Using Results
The Results panel displays the output from tools that allow you to select data. More detailed information is available on resource attribute headers.
To open the Results window
- Results panel expands automatically after using Select data by shape or the Select data by query tool.
- You can also expand Results by clicking its down-arrow
in the
Console. If you open
Results before selecting any data, the Results
panel will be blank.
- You can collapse
the Results panel to its title bar by clicking the
collapse icon.
- You can resize the height of Results
by clicking and dragging the bottom of the
the Results section.
- If Results is re-opened, previous results will
still be visible, unless the page is refreshed.
Navigating the Results window
- After runing a data selection task, the results panel will expand and the data table will be populated with the selected data.
- If you run another data selection task, the new results items
will overwrite the previous selection.
- The data table contains rows for each selected items with buttons and check boxes to enable Pan, Zoom, and Select for each feature.
- There are links at the top so you can Select, Unselect, and Zoom to all of the features in the table. By clicking on the attribute column headers you can sort data in the table.

Selecting with the Results window
All features are selected (highlighted) in a yellow hatched fill colour. Individual features in this selection can be further highlighted by clicking
the check-box to the left of the feature attrributes. This causes
the feature to be highlighted in blue on the map.
Zooming to Features
You can zoom to one or more features in the Results window. See
the table above for illustrations of the right-click menus.
- To zoom to a single feature, click the zoom icon on the row of your choice to the left of the feature attributes

- To zoom to all selected features on the map, click the Zoom to all link at the top of the results table..
Exporting Features
Once you have selected some data, you can export the selection into a an MS Excel spreadsheet (.XLS format). Just click the Export Results (XLS) button and you will be prompted to save (or open) the file. All of the attributes will be exported for the selected features, delete any columns that are not of use and edit the data further in MS Excel. N.B. If the results panel is undocked
and the export button does not work, just re-dock the results panel and click the
button again.
